FAQ

Common questions

Is Media Extractor free?

Yes. Extracting, previewing and downloading are completely free. There is no account, no sign-up and no limit on how many pages you scan for normal personal use.

How do I download all images from a website at once?

Paste the page address into the box at the top and press Extract media. When the results appear, click Select all (or tick the files you want) and press Download ZIP. All selected files are saved in one ZIP archive.

What is the bookmarklet and when should I use it?

It's a bookmark that runs a tiny script on the page you're viewing. It reads the list of files your browser has actually loaded, including video streams started by players, and copies it for you. Use it for JavaScript-heavy sites, infinite-scroll galleries, sites that block proxies, or pages you can only see after logging in.

Can I download YouTube or Netflix videos with it?

No. Embedded players such as YouTube or Vimeo are listed with a link to open them, but not downloaded. Services like Netflix and Prime Video use DRM, and the tool never bypasses DRM, logins or paywalls.

Do you store the pages I scan or the files I download?

No. The extractor runs in your browser and we have no database of scans. In URL mode the address is fetched through a third-party CORS proxy, as explained in our privacy policy. Paste HTML and Bookmarklet modes never send your data anywhere.

Is it legal to download media from websites?

It depends on who owns the content and how you use it. Your own work, public-domain material and files under a licence that allows it are fine. Copyrighted material needs the owner's permission. Read our guide on using web media legally and our copyright policy.
